About Armona Denizcilik A.Ş.
Originally set up to construct our own fleet vessels, Armona Denizcilik has now become the Ship Management arm of the Atlantis Tankers Group. Historically, Turkish Shipowners have been used to building ships on their own. While this had various reasons, changing partly over the decades, Armona adopted this philosophy for the benefits of cost saving, better quality control, individual selection of manufacturers and associated technical features and, last but not least, to involve ship management staff in the construction with the subsequent advantages of through-life management and maintenance. Located along the waters of the Bosporus the Ship Management team has not only access to one of the world's biggest airports, but is also only an hour's drive from the construction and repair shipyards. For the past thirty years, the oil and chemical industry have had vetting organizations to manage the risk of transportation. Today, through complex processes, these organizations determine whether an owner is ‘acceptable’ by evaluating the level of service offered and deciding if it meets their expectations/requirements. Over the years, Armona has become a ‘quality operator’ recognized by every vetting organization which screens us. More than one third of our business is conducted with the Super Majors. Our Tanker Management Self Assessment has fully satisfied the required degrees of compliance through numerous office audits set by oil companies and third parties. In addition, our Incident Profile, Inspection Results, Emergency Response Capability, Terminal Vessel Performance Reports, Safety & Environmental Management System and Port State Control records have been scrutinized and fulfill all requirements necessary for the distinction as a Quality Operator.
