About CELLSIUS
CELLSIUS Project H2-Sling and e-Sling are student focus projects at ETH Zurich. The CELLSIUS association was founded by students in 2022 and is responsible for the maintenance, flight testing, support and planning of future projects in the field of sustainable aviation. The projects are supported by numerous finance, fabrication and material sponsors from industry and are financially independent of ETH Zurich. The projects offer students a platform to apply the engineering knowledge acquired in theory to the practical example of a highly complex product. In the process, Students gain important experience in the areas of team leadership, innovation and quality management, cost control, project- and product documentation and risk control. From 2020 to 2022, the e-Sling project has developed an electric powertrain for a Sling TSI. With the successful first flight on September 19, 2022, our electric aircraft with a modular battery system took to the skies. Project H2 was launched in 2021 with the aim of developing a hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system for a Sling High Wing aircraft. A prototype of the fuel cell system was already successfully tested and is now being prepared for the final installation in the High Wing.
