About Cool Neighbourhoods
Cool Neighborhoods focuses on reducing heat stress and improving the quality of life for our residents in Northwestern European cities. The project will develop capacity building materials and tools for decision makers and community actors. In addition, twelve partners will work with stakeholders in 9 pilot areas in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Luxembourg to develop heat stress action plans and test viable cooling solutions for individual buildings and public spaces. This project also builds on the knowledge and tools acquired from other European projects such as the former Cool Towns project and Nature Smart Cities project for mitigating heat stress. The Cool Neighbourhoods project is an Interreg North-West Europe project, co-funded by the European Union.
