About Dads Behaving Madly
About Dads Behaving Madly Dads Behaving Madly is a registered charity based in Scarborough, supporting dads and male carers of children with disabilities across the Yorkshire Coast. While our focus is on dads and carers of children with disabilities, we welcome all dads who need support and connection. What started as a small peer support group of just 3 members has grown to over 70 plus dads in just over a year, now serving approximately 450 beneficiaries. Our Mission We exist to break the isolation that many dads and male carers experience when raising children with disabilities or additional needs. Through authentic connection, peer support, and practical activities, we're creating a community where no dad has to face the journey alone. What We Do Our regular activities include: Monthly breakfast meetups for connection and support Sauna and sea sessions promoting wellness and mental health Archery, football, and surfing activities Community events and fundraising initiatives Our podcast "Life, Struggles and Sanity" with Yorkshire Coast Connections Youth programs like Digital Changemakers Our Impact We've built partnerships with local businesses, venues, and organizations across Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast. We're currently working on establishing a permanent Men's Wellbeing Hub and expanding our programs to reach even more families who need support. Why It Matters Dads and male carers often face unique challenges—navigating complex systems, managing therapy appointments, advocating for their children, and dealing with the emotional weight of it all. Many do this without the peer support networks they desperately need. Dads Behaving Madly changes that.
