About Edwards Mediation Academy
Edwards Mediation Academy was founded on a simple premise: the best way to learn mediation is from people who have spent their careers doing it at the highest level. EMA was co-founded by Bruce Edwards, who co-founded Bates Edwards Group and Endispute (which merged with JAMS to become the largest ADR provider in the US), spent nearly 30 years as a Founding Partner at JAMS, and has mediated more than 8,000 disputes. EMA's faculty collectively represents more than 400 years of front-line professional mediation experience. Our courses are online, self-paced, and built around complete mediations, as though you are in the room shadowing the mediator, not textbook theory. Each module includes commentary from multiple leading practitioners, giving learners real exposure to different styles, approaches, and decision-making under pressure. EMA serves professionals at every stage: lawyers and judges beginning a mediation practice, attorneys looking to better represent clients in mediation and earn CLE credit, HR and business professionals building conflict resolution capacity, practicing mediators ready to handle more complex cases, and government, nonprofit, and community leaders entering the field.
