About Electronic and Magnetic Materials Department

The Electronic and Magnetic Materials Department (EMM) was established in 2003 to conduct basic and applied research on electronics, magnetics, and renewable energy materials and devices. EMM comprises from multidisciplinary research team with different backgrounds and perspectives on chemistry, physics, materials science, and engineering. Electronic and magnetic devices are widely used in many strategic and economical sections such as power electronics, home appliances, medical, energy and food production, military and communications. The performance of such devices can be monitored by improving the electronic and magnetic properties and intriguing features in the premier form of the materials design, which can be done with the interconnection with industrial parties. The vision behinds the materials research, device engineering with the industry is to take part in building energy-efficient and sustainable systems, targeting the coming "New Egypt" and "the National Sustainable Development Strategy (Egypt Vision 2030)" in Science and Technology Basic Plan of Egypt, that supports innovation and stimulates knowledge-based economy. In the following, we shed a light on some of our research achievements in the related fields. The main goal of the Electronic and Magnetic Materials Department is to pursue the Egyptian transition toward an energy-efficient and sustainable society. To achieve this goal, we innovate cost-effective materials, alternative processing techniques, and devices with low-energy consumption and new functionalities in electronics, magnetics, communications, and medical applications.
