About EPAG - US Government Exchange Program Alumni Association of Georgia
The U.S. Government Exchange Program Alumni Association of Georgia (EPAG) is a non-governmental, non-commercial organization uniting alumni of 25 U.S. Government–funded exchange programs. EPAG currently unites over 1,300 registered members, whose collective expertise and intellectual capital represent the greatest asset of the Association. The mission is to contribute to the sustainability of an active civil society by sharing expertise through consultancy, research, development, advocacy, and the promotion of community-based initiatives. EPAG was founded in 2004 as the Muskie Alumni Association of Georgia (MAAG), initially bringing together alumni of the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program. In 2013, to enhance sustainability, expand organizational capacity, and increase overall impact, the Association strategically broadened its membership to include alumni of all U.S. Government–funded exchange programs. This transition was formalized through amendments to the statutes of the Association and adoption of its current name, EPAG. EPAG is a member of the European Network of American Alumni Associations (ENAM). Primary goal of EPAG is to foster a strong professional network of like-minded, U.S.-educated professionals. To achieve this, EPAG provides a platform for intellectual collaboration and social engagement, enhanced employment and consultancy opportunities, access to joint initiatives, and facilitated engagement with decision-makers for advocacy purposes. Beyond serving its members, EPAG is committed to extending its intellectual resources to the wider public. The Association implements a diverse range of community-based initiatives aimed at empowering broad audiences, with particular focus on young people. These initiatives include study visits, regional outreach campaigns, mentorship and leadership development programs, capacity-building workshops, specialized trainings and masterclasses, public discussions and charitable initiatives.
