About Ethical Seafood Research
Ethical Seafood Research (ESR) is a non-profit organisation advocating for improved animal welfare in aquatic food systems globally. Registered in the UK, Spain, and Kenya, we focus on improving conditions for farmed fish in low- and middle-income countries — where aquaculture is expanding rapidly and welfare is too often overlooked. ESR also engages with policymakers and supply chain actors to create incentives for higher welfare, ensuring producers who adopt better practices are supported and rewarded.
