About EUM Power
"EUM POWER" (EU Migrants Promoting Openness With Equal Rights) is dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by intra-EU labour migrants in the lower tiers of the labour market. EUM POWER brings together nine partners and three associated policy authorities in eight European countries (Belgium, Spain, Romania, Greece, Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands, and the Discovery Partner North-Macedonia) to streamline information dissemination for approximately 20 million mobile EU workers across Europe. Intra-EU labour migrants (EUMCs) are in a dire situation. Despite EU citizens' entitlement to freedom of movement and the right to work across member states under equal conditions, exploitation of EUMCs and disinformation about their rights and duties are common practice. EUM POWER is dedicated to: remedying these discrepancies by focusing on three key areas: - Access to Information: Ensuring accurate dissemination of information regarding workers' rights, legal contracts, and working hours Knowledge - Dissemination: Educating on channels and options for return migration to facilitate informed decision-making - Improved Availability of Information: Enhancing access to pertinent information from regional, local, and national authorities EUM POWER seeks to enhance the rights and opportunities of EUMCs, fostering economic, social, and territorial cohesion within the EU. The project delivers 38 good practices, 8 interregional meetings, 9 thematic events, and Community of Practice meetings, targeting both receiving and sending regions. The increase of local and regional capacities through the learning process will lead to the improvement of the policies. In addition, the project endeavours to bolster municipalities' capabilities to fully integrate EUMCs into their workforce and communities. During the last phase, an evaluation on the impact of policy improvement in the eight countries will be shared and disseminated at EU level.
