About European Business Group India
The European Business Group Federation (EBGF) ensure long term stability and clarity on its purpose as a not for profit organization offering support and advocacy for European businesses in India. Founded as the European Business Group (EBG), in 1997 as a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Business Community in India, EBG has come to be recognized by the Indian Government and the European Commission as the industry advocacy group representing the interest of European companies in India. EBG Federation is supported by the Delegation of the European Union to India and represents the 27 Member States of the European Union. The EU Ambassador is our Patron. Currently EBGF has Chapters in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. The focus areas of EBGF are as follows: • Become and sustain an active role as the main forum for advocacy of European Business Group in India. • Provide a platform for European Corporates and entities to voice their values and needs to the Government and the larger business community in India through interactive meetings with Indian Industry, policy makers and others in the area of business and culture in order to facilitate greater understanding, dialogue and cooperation between all stakeholders. • Bring out, annually, high level Position Paper (PP) with a sectoral focus on key segments of operational business and bring this PP to the notice of the Indian Government, the European Commission, diplomatic missions of the EU countries in India, Corporate bodies, Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other key stakeholders. • Provide a platform for individual sector committees in various sectors to actively engage with key policy changes to enable business growth in each of those areas. • Support the European SME Forum. EBGF’s SME Forum has now been launched and in the process of being set up. EBGF is also an active member of the European Business Organization’s worldwide network.
