FIELD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1978 by Cesar E. Chavez with a vision to build a pathway to self-sufficiency for underserved communities through education and training. Today, FIELD continues that legacy by offering accessible programs that help adults and young adults remove barriers and unlock opportunities. Through our two core pillars—EPIC de Cesar Chavez Charter High School and the Cesar Chavez Environmental Corps (CCEC)—we provide a continuum of services that include high school diploma completion, English Language Development (ELD), workforce development, and personal enrichment. Our Career Technical Education (CTE) programs include Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts, Recycling, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Business. We also offer support courses in digital literacy and financial literacy, equipping participants with the tools they need to thrive in today’s economy. FIELD welcomes individuals from all walks of life—immigrants, first-generation learners, young adults, parents, career changers, and those seeking a second chance. Since 2002, we have served nearly 90,000 students across California’s rural and urban communities. We are committed to strengthening the economic and social fabric of our state by helping people achieve self-sufficiency, one success story at a time.
