GenAI Genesis is Canada’s largest AI hackathon, bringing together ambitious builders, researchers, and industry leaders to design and deploy impactful AI systems. Each year, top student builders come together for an intense build sprint to develop real AI products, work with cutting-edge tools across LLMs, multimodal AI, and machine learning infrastructure, and receive mentorship from experienced engineers, founders, and researchers. The initiative began in 2023 at the University of Toronto Scarborough as AI Olympics. As the community rapidly expanded, the event evolved into GenAI Genesis, scaling into a global platform that connects university talent with industry and the broader AI ecosystem. Today, GenAI Genesis is organized by the GenAI Genesis Foundation, which collaborates with universities, research labs, and industry partners to create a world-class environment for building frontier AI systems. GenAI Genesis was founded by Alankrit Verma and Adib Fallahpour.
