About Global Peace Foundation Kenya
The Global Peace Foundation Kenya is an affiliate of the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) which is an international non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-profit organization that promotes an innovative, values-based approach to peacebuilding. Founded in the year 2009, the affiliate has its international offices in Washington DC and operates in more than twenty countries. GPF engages and organizes a global network of public and private sector partners who develop community, national and regional peace building models as the foundation for ethical and cohesive societies. To achieve this, GPF convenes and implements development projects and conferences on grassroots peacebuilding, education, entrepreneurship, and youth leadership development. The Global Peace Foundation's main focus in Kenya is on transforming education through programs that foster character, creativity, innovation, and employability in school-aged children. The Global Peace Foundation has been able to bring together organizations that share similar principles to confront the difficulties that face education in the twenty-first century through initiatives such as Character and Creativity, Transforming Education Series, Leap Hubs, and Great Places To School. GPF supports the Kenyan government's efforts to implement the Competency Based Curriculum in order to provide students with 21st century skills and prepare them for the ever-changing job market. To carry out its mandate in Kenya, the affiliate has worked with various partners such as the UN in Kenya, IGAD, IBM, Google, Moringa School, Oracle, Andela, Airtel, the Standard Group, CEMASTEA, UNDP, NCIC, Parliament of Kenya, the Senate and other state and non-state actors. As a result of our work with the youth, the Global Peace Foundation Kenya has received several accolades including a Certificate of Commendation from the United Nations Office in Kenya for outstanding efforts to promote a culture of service among youth in Kenya.
