About GMR Sports

Our sports journey began with Delhi Capitals, one of the most popular IPL cricket teams we co-own with JSW in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team has qualified for playoffs in 6 editions. We marked our international debut with Dubai Capitals, a franchise cricket team representing Dubai city in the International Premier League (ILT20), approved by the ICC, that begins in January 2023. Our newest asset is the India Capitals Cricket team in the Legends League Cricket, a global T20 league where celebrated ‘golden’ cricketers of the recent past are seen back in action on the field. India Capitals won the championship in the first season (2022). In the quest to grow the sporting ecosystem holistically, we acquired U.P. Yoddhas (2017) in the Pro-Kabaddi League (promoted by Disney) and in 2022, invested in Telugu Yoddhas in the Ultimate Kho-Kho League (promoted by Amit Burman, Chairman, Dabur). Sports can and will always connect people & cultures across geographies and boundaries, which is what we aspire to do!
