Hiive is a platform for a community of students and investors. What is the goal? It is to connect international students to financers (investors of students) willing to fund their graduate tuition. In return, these students will give back a fixed percentage of their future earnings. Why create Hiive? What we see is that the number of international students enrolled in graduate education has increased at a rate of 20% in the past five years. Moreover, of these students, approximately 98% would not have access to local credit; therefore out of desperation, these students will have to take on a high-interest debt (9.5% avg). Thus, our solution is to allow international students to finance their tuition efficiently, to enter a community and to reinforce their sense of security providing them with a comprehensive solution. For Financers, Hiive will offer an entirely new investment asset class. The investment will be in student indices (bundles based on specified criteria and calculated through an algorithm), for example, entrepreneurs from LatAm region, consultants from Lebanon, and much more.
