About Ignite Africa
Inspired by the vision to create strong local economies and regional cooperation, Ignite Africa is a Pan-African Business Support Organisation (BSO). We operate across the African continent, aiming to expand private sector participation in Africa’s development agenda. We exist to ignite Africa's entrepreneurship and innovation and accelerate the realisation of the Africa We Want. Regional economic integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) hinges on the active engagement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the broader private sector. Yet in many Member States, there is no unified platform to equip businesses with the insights, resources, and support they need to capitalise on AfCFTA’s promise. We fill this critical gap. We strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities, facilitate cross-border trade, and drive sustainable development. More than a convenience, our Hub targets to empower at least 100 million African entrepreneurs, SME Business Leaders and knowledge workers by 2030 in exploring and exploiting export markets for inclusive growth. We firmly believe that AfCFTA’s long-term impact, lifting millions out of poverty, will depend on how rapidly and effectively SMEs become competitive, how intra-African trade expands, and how national development plans align with Agenda 2063’s vision
