Leibniz University Hannover was founded 1831 and belongs to the TU9 – the nine leading Institutes of Technology in Germany. We offer a broad spectrum of subjects, ranging from engineering and natural sciences to architecture and environmental planning, from law and economics to social sciences and humanities. We offer numerous English-speaking studies and double degree on master level. LUH welcomes 26.000 Students, including 17,8 % international students from 116 different countries and around 3.400 researchers at 150 institutes At the International Office (IO), our team is supporting all things “international” at Leibniz University Hannover. The Welcome Centre is the central point of contact for all international students, doctoral candidates and researchers spending a time at Leibniz University Hannover. We are also supporting refugees intending to study or do research at LUH. From providing pre-arrival information, to support for visa and residence permit, we are supporting from the time the decision to come to LUH is taken until the end of your stay at LUH. In addition, we also offer workshops, recreational activities, financial support, etc. for students and researchers and assists in finding an accommodation in Hannover. At the same time, the International Office helps students and researchers for organising their stay abroad. We offer financial support for students and interns going abroad and coordinate the implementation of jointly supervised doctoral programmes (cotutelle) at LUH. Finally, the International Office is coordination partnerships with more than 150 universities worldwide and supports faculty to establish new collaboration with international partner universities.
