About iotaBEAM
StarDust™ by iotaBEAM is the only IoT security solution specifically designed to authenticate and secure low complexity IoT sensors and endpoint devices without a need for hardware redesign. Low complexity endpoints have by design limited onboard processing power, memory and battery capacity; adding security to these highly constrained devices is extremely challenging. You could redesign them and add new security chips, but this could have a large impact on cost. iotaBEAM's security solution does not require any change in the existing hardware and system design: it encrypts data with the latest in lightweight cryptography and authenticates devices with minimum message exchange. It only takes a tiny footprint on the processor and consumes minimum power from the battery. The solution has been designed from the ground up to be easy to implement (typically by customers own IT team) on any existing IoT platforms and processors. It is agnostic to the existing wireless access technology (e.g. BLE, ZigBee, LoRa, cellular IoT, etc.) and IP / cloud infrastructure. Our patented non-IP communication scheme is difficult to breach, as well as our sophisticated key management with multiple set of keys unique to each endpoint so that a single breach could not compromise the entire network.
