In 1999, the company was restructured as Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) and became the first Asian airport operator to be publicly listed on Bursa Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in our journey. After 25 years as a publicly listed company, Malaysia Airports was delisted in 2025 following a successful privatisation exercise by Gateway Development Alliance (GDA), a consortium in which comprising 70% is owned by Malaysian GLICs - Khazanah Nasional Berhad (via its wholly-owned subsidiary, UEM Group Berhad) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Remaining investors comprise international investors, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). The Malaysian government remains a special shareholder, ensuring that strategic national interests are safeguarded. Today, Malaysia Airports manages 39 airports across Malaysia, comprising five international airports, 17 domestic airports, and 17 STOLports (Short Take-Off and Landing airports), alongside Istanbul Sabiha Gรถkรงen International Airport in Tรผrkiye.
