About Metallurgical, Materials & Biomedical Engineering @ UTEP

The Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering (MMBME) Department at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has a deep-rooted history. Established in 1913, by the Texas legislature as the Texas State School of Mines and Metallurgy at El Paso. The department has grown, and now offers 5 degree programs: 1) B.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) 2) M.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) 3) Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering (MASE) 4) M.S. in Biomedical Engineering (BME) 5) Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (BME).
