About Nation Building School
Since August 2015, Nation Building School has directly helped 2,743 professionals (as of June 2026) in Malaysia build careers around the lives they actually want, without chasing passion or starting over. We work with emerging leaders and mid-career professionals navigating career transitions, growth and reinvention. Our method: start with the lifestyle you want, work backwards to careers that support it, then build the skills to make it real. In an AI-driven world of work, that clarity matters more than ever. We draw on the Designing Your Life framework, developed by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans at Stanford University. We are Malaysia's first certified practitioner of this approach. We did not start here. We started with young Malaysians not in employment, education or training, and youth unemployment above 12%, triple the national rate. That problem taught us one thing: the cost of getting your career wrong is real. From a bootstrapped NGO in Bukit Tunku, we grew into an organisation that ran capacity-building programmes for young people and supported the Malaysia Jobs Coalition in championing zero unemployment. Today, we have evolved to meet a different challenge: helping mid-career professionals navigate an AI-driven world of work, on their own terms.
