About Neonates Foundation of India
3.5million babies are born prematurely in our country. 40% of them die within the first 24 hours due to a lack of Neonatal Care support. The majority of the babies born too soon in underprivileged families have no access to specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) due to the high costs. That’s where we step in — our efforts are to reduce preventable neonatal deaths and help save newborns. While India has made great strides in reducing the neonatal mortality rate due to institutional birthing and increase in Neonatal Intensive Care Units across the country, the focus should now be on reducing neonatal deaths in the underprivileged sections of the society who cannot afford the high-cost NICU treatment. The Neonates Foundation of India (NFI) is a non-profit organization is set up with a mission to help such families access Neonatal Care, by raising funds and thereby bridging the gap.
