Neovia Oncology is making “Impossible Possible” by making tumor therapy free of Grade 3/4 SAEs & improve quality of life in cancer patients. Neovia Oncology is an US-based clinical stage cancer drug development company. Neovia has successfully completed a Phase I dose escalation trial of its lead candidate NEV-801 with favorable safety and efficacy in patients with solid tumor who were resistant to previous chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy. NEV-801 is a novel, patented, topoisomerase I and II dual inhibitor, with significantly superior safety and efficacy compared to other inhibitors. Concurrent inhibition of both of these enzymes is known to suppress the resistance mechanisms of cancer cells. However, there are no FDA approved topoisomerase I and II dual inhibitor. Most investigational stage dual inhibitors have failed because of severe adverse events (SAEs). To solve this problem, NEV-801 was artfully designed to retain the efficacy of topoisomerase I and II inhibitors while making it safer than than known and approved topoisomerase I or II inhibitors (camptothecin analogs and pophyllotoxin analogs respectively. NEV-801 is demonstrated several other anti-neoplastic mechanisms of actions and tumor targeting effects. NEV-801 has superior efficacy in combination with known antibodies. Neovia Oncology has other drug candidates which are highly cytotoxic to cancer cells (IC50 values in very low nano-molar concentrations), which have structural compatibility for designing antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
