In addition, our vertically integrated operations include multi-chamber steam boarding machinery, water-conserving steam tumbling system for post-knitting washing, and automated packaging equipment. Nester Hosiery also recognizes the importance of corporate responsibility and that the future of our business depends on taking care of the resources we have today. As a local family-owned business with a global presence, we are committed to continually improving our efforts in the areas of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. To accomplish this, we work with the following industry partners and experts on ways to reduce the environmental impact of our products. 1. Since 2010, Nester Hosiery has been actively involved in the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) Sustainability Working Group efforts. 2. Nester Hosiery supported early pilot testing of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s Higg Index and became the first domestic sock manufacturer to submit annual facility systems data in 2012. 3. Nester Hosiery became a Bluesign System Partner in 2016 and a certified manufacturer in 2017.
