Nieamputuj.pl is a Polish start-up that has developed software using advanced artificial intelligence technology to diagnose foot wounds in patients suffering from diabetic foot syndrome. Based on two photos of the foot taken from different angles, one photo of the wound, and answers to six closed questions, eleven artificial intelligence models perform varying degrees of analysis of seven wound characteristics (including Charcot foot, neuropathy, angiopathy, and infection). As a result of the analysis, the user receives one of seventy medical diagnoses. The diagnosis includes a set of preventive information that helps the patient understand how to deal with the wound, where to seek medical help, and how the doctor should proceed in such a case. Thanks to this diagnosis, the patient has a chance to avoid limb amputation. Artificial intelligence algorithms are implemented in the cloud and available via an API. To facilitate the use of the algorithms, a mobile application has been developed that guides users through the assessment process and allows them to save the results in their history. The application does not require the provision of personal data or user registration and works using generated virtual identifiers. The mobile application was developed using Flutter and its educational version is available on Google Play and Apple App stores. The company is looking for a partner to conduct clinical trials and the medical certification process for the solution, or a sponsor to finance it.
