Providing 10 million delighted Congolese people with world-class power by December 2030. Nuru, meaning “light” in Swahili, encapsulates Nuru’s vision to amplify the incredible human creativity in Congo by providing millions of delighted people with world-class renewable energy and connectivity services. Nuru deployed Congo’s first commercial solar-based minigrid in 2017 and launched its first MW-scale solar minigrid in Goma in 2020.
