About OASiS Social Innovations Lab
While every Industry has Research and Innovations Labs that ensure the growth of the Industry, the Development Sector Industry (also known as the Social Sector), did not have any. Research existed, but only about data, resulting in Reports, some influencing Policy, some getting published, but most getting locked in cupboards and libraries. Social Sector addresses the largest cross section of people, where society is changing fast, people’s needs are growing by the day, and aspirations are sky rocketing. In such a volatile environment, how long can old approaches work? But where could one develop new approaches? Addressing this gap, OASiS was born as the first Social Innovations Lab of India in 2003, in Bhopal (capital of the central state Madhya Pradesh). It developed a systems thinking and designing process for Social Innovations. Since 2003, OASiS has developed 10 innovative models and approaches to addressing Social Security, Disability, Rural Livelihoods, Urban Education, Rural Education, Volunteering, Positive Media, Life Skills education, etc. All the models are offered as Open Source, on our website. Our models have been adopted and replicated by the Central and State Governments, Foreign Universities, and many CSOs. Check our Website to know more.
