Occams provides high-quality strategic services to clients in the pharmaceutical industry. Using mathematical modelling and simulation, relationships between administered drug amounts, resulting drug concentrations and their pharmacodynamic effects can be described and investigated in patient populations. We derive our name from the heuristic principle known as Occam’s razor, attributed to the Franciscan friar William of Ockham (1287-1347): when multiple explanations are equally capable of describing the outcome, the least complex solution is preferred.
