About OpenAgriNet
OpenAgriNetwork is an alliance of people, governments, and organizations who aim to transform agricultural practices and value chains globally. We are building the foundations of a globally interoperable, agriculture Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) powered by AI, knowledge and resource exchange, open toolkits, unified protocols and data standards, which will positively impact farm holdings of all kinds, regardless of their size and scale. Our intent is to bridge the digital divide, especially for smallholder and marginalised farmers, to benefit from technological advancements. OpenAgriNet seeks to address the fragmentation of digital agriculture practices, limited access to modern technologies and knowledge, and the lack of market linkages and credit sources for farmers, particularly in the Global South. We aim to mitigate the impacts of climate change on agriculture by promoting advanced, climate-resilient practices powered by DPIs. We seek to establish open, standardised protocols and data for better interoperability and scalability while fostering global collaboration to share best practices and innovative solutions, ultimately creating a more inclusive, efficient, and resilient agricultural ecosystem. We aim to bring together representatives of Governments, Sectoral tech-think tanks, SDOs, NPOs, Private Ag-tech organisations, research & academic institutions, among others to revolutionize the agricultural landscape through open data, shared resources, ideas and innovation.
