About PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency)

PACT is the global, neutral infrastructure for product-level carbon data exchange, built so businesses can make strategic decisions based on comparable, trusted Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs). Hosted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), PACT is an initiative that brings together a community of more than 5,000 companies and over 150 stakeholders, with more than 4 million PCFs calculated. Making us the largest PCFs network in the world. PACT delivers this infrastructure through a common methodology for PCF calculation (the operational layer on top of GHG Protocol, ISO, PEF and others), technical specifications for the exchange of this data, and a use case model for applying this data in business decisions — a shared language that lets actors along a supply chain exchange emissions data directly, peer-to-peer, with a focus on interoperable exchange across systems and borders. We are currently engaged with 50+ multinationals and partners in active implementation pilots. PACT is a neutral not-for-profit. We do not sell commercial services or store the data; we provide the foundation that lets it move, so businesses can strengthen GHG reporting, sharpen decarbonization strategies, and act on credible data across business functions rather than industry averages. We are inviting everyone to help build this infrastructure together, because this is something the whole ecosystem needs and no one can build alone.
