About Penn Electric Racing
Penn Electric Racing (PER) is the University of Pennsylvania’s Formula SAE Electric Team. Each year, we build an award-winning, fully electric racecar that aims to push the envelope. PER has enjoyed a legacy of success. Over the past decade, we've produced 10 cars and won 41 trophies. We built America’s fastest student-designed racecar with a 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds – that’s acceleration faster than freefall. Our earliest racecar, REV1, was the first functional EV at Lincoln ever. A year later, REV2 broke the American acceleration record for both the gas and electric divisions. In 2017, REV3 scored the fastest 0-75 meter time in all of North America. We're now introducing our 2025-2026 competition car, REV11. We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from a decade of electric racing and funneled it into a single mission: dominate competition through uncompromising design and relentless testing. PER brings together the next generation of engineers and leaders. Our all-student club of over 60 students represents the best our campus has to offer, from Penn Engineering to Wharton. Our passion stems from a commitment to detail and pursuit of calculated perfection. Join us as we push the boundaries of what electric vehicles can do.
