About Play for Nature

Founded in 2012 by Julien Pierre (then a player for ASM Clermont Auvergne and the French national rugby team) and Pascal Damois (then the new president of the Parc Animalier d’Auvergne), Play for Nature was first established as a nonprofit organization (La Passerelle), then as an endowment fund (La Passerelle Conservation) in 2015. As an endowment fund, Play for Nature is recognized as a public benefit organization and is therefore eligible to receive donations and bequests; additionally, donors (individuals and companies) can benefit from tax advantages. Play for Nature has become an expert in researching and evaluating in situ conservation programs, as well as in creative fundraising within the zoo sector and in organizing unique events, including, very quickly, sporting events (Kids Trail, Snow Leopard Trail, and Challenge). In 2022, La Passerelle Conservation will become Play for Nature. In addition to the initial programs in collaboration with our zoo partners, Play for Nature aims to develop expertise in supporting conservation programs that combine sports and biodiversity. This will naturally take the form of financial support, as well as technical and operational assistance in organizing sporting events.
