Australian led renewable energy project developer and investor. Polpo Investments was a joint venture partner with Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ: CSIQ) and Photon Energy NV (WSE: PEN) in a gigawatt portfolio of utility scale solar projects in New South Wales, Australia. Polpo Investments developed the 189MWdc Suntop Solar Farm and 153MWdc Gunnedah Solar Farm from greenfield which are now owned by CalEnergy Resources, a subsidiary of United Kingdom-based electrical distribution company Northern Powergrid Holdings which is in turn owned by Berkshire Hathaway. The Gunnedah Solar Farm and Suntop Solar Farm both have corporate power purchase agreements (CPPAs) with Amazon for a total of 165MW of output, the largest corporate PPA signed in Australia at the time. The Gunnedah Solar Farm was the best performing solar farm in NSW in June and July 2022 in NSW. As the Polpo Investments Group via Mithra Energy S.A. and its various subsidiaries we are active investors and developers of Renewable Energy projects in Poland. In Poland ~107.5 MW of wind power projects, including an operating wind farm in Ciechocinek and ~100 MW of solar farms developed and divested including a set of projects in cooperation with the national energy company. Currently we are developing a portfolio of ~500 MW PV projects, ~150 MW Wind projects and ~300 MW Battery Energy Storage Systems projects.
