About Resilient Young Minds

Resilient Young Minds CIC is a social enterprise responding to a set of interconnected challenges facing young people: poor mental health, increasing loneliness, and inequitable access to nature as a resource for wellbeing. After growing, learning and laying strong foundations since 2018, Resilient Young Minds has developed from this early work into its current form. Our approach is simple, preventative and hopeful. We embed nature-based wellbeing pathways within NHS primary care and local communities, creating support that does not end at referral or diagnosis, but helps young adults reconnect and move forward. Through our NHS-embedded, five-week nature-based wellbeing programme, delivered in partnership with communities and Primary Care Networks, disadvantaged young adults are supported to reconnect with themselves, with peers and with the natural world. From this foundation, our work offers a pathway to wider opportunities, supporting young people to move towards volunteering, employment and ongoing integration in community life. Our work aligns with the NHS’s long-term vision for prevention and neighbourhood health, contributing to upstream, primary-care-embedded approaches that strengthen communities and support long-term wellbeing. Young people are increasingly experiencing disconnection. Creating pathways that enable connection — to a sense of belonging, agency and meaningful contribution — matters not only for individual wellbeing, but for the health of communities and the places we share. Independent evaluation by Apollo Health Innovations (2023) showed: • 75% increased mental wellbeing • 92% increased connection to nature • 100% would recommend the programme Winner – South West Health Innovation Network Health Equity Award 2023 Expanding in Devon in 2026, alongside national training and the development of a decision-grade evidence base to support future commissioning.
