About Roetz-Bikes
Roetz is een sociale onderneming, winnaar van de circular award 2022, die zich als doel heeft gesteld om bij te dragen aan een inclusieve en circulaire samenleving. Roetz maakt fietsen op basis van hergebruikte onderdelen van weesfietsen en creëert daarmee werk en een opleidingstraject binnen een industrie die zit te springen om mensen. In augustus 2016 heeft Roetz een sociale fietsfabriek geopend aan het Gedempt Hamerkanaal in Amsterdam Noord. Roetz heeft zowel een groene als een sociale missie. Fietsen krijgen een tweede leven, mensen een tweede kans. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat mensen met kwetsbaarheden even goed mee kunnen draaien op de reguliere arbeidsmarkt. Om deze overtuiging kracht bij te zetten hebben we ons middels een prestatielening gecommitteerd aan een concrete doelstelling; in 2021 hebben 10 makers een arbeidsovereenkomst van 24u per week voor de duur van ten minste 1 jaar. At the Amsterdam-based Roetz Fair Factory, men and women with poor job prospects make new bikes from discarded ones. By hand and with pride. We train them to become skilled bicycle technicians and do everything in our power to help them find permanent employment. We want nothing less than changing the world for the better. That is why we are a Social Enterprise putting social impact first. With the Fair Factory, we prove that running a business and having a social heart can go hand in hand.
