The S12 is a unified and elected industry body that brings security leaders together to work as a collective with the Government and the Security Minister. Our mandate is to address and elevate critical industry issues, promote higher standards and professionalism, enhance public safety, and positively shape the perception of the security guarding sector. Our mission is to: • Ensure consistent, credible and impactful engagement with the Government • Represent the interests of the UK security guarding sector to the Government, regulators and stakeholders • Work towards always enhancing public safety • Ensure that diverse voices are heard, from the largest national providers to the smallest in the industry, along with trade associations capturing the micro providers • Promote professional standards, good practice and compliance across the industry • Provide a platform for collaboration between businesses and trade associations The work is split into dedicated workstreams in areas including Training Malpractice, Labour Exploitation, Martyn’s Law, Mandatory Business Licensing, Business Approval Scheme and Integrated Policing and Private Security Initiative.
