About Second Day
Today, the best-educated, most diverse generation in American history has entered the workforce. They are extremely values-driven; 60% of young millennials and Gen Z’ers report wanting a mission-driven career. However, because of the prevalence of “word of mouth” recruiting, low or no-paying jobs, and lack of industry resources, only 20% of them are actually able to achieve this feat. Second Day is here to address this talent gap by working to dismantle inequitable talent pipelines into the social impact sector. Our goal is to change the norm that young people feel forced to decide between doing good for the world or well for themselves by helping them land their dream job working on the causes they care about. FOR JOBSEEKERS: Our impact fellowship is a free program that matches undergraduate and graduate students as well as young professionals at nonprofits or social enterprises for paid internships. Not only will you receive a career-related experience, but you will also receive in-depth and personalized career coaching and professional development to ensure that you feel fully supported throughout your internship and confident launching your career in social impact.
