About SHPE Indiana Professional
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers SHPE was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1974 by a group of engineers employed by the city of Los Angeles. The objective was to create a national organization of engineers to serve as role models in the Hispanic community. In the same manner, with the same mission and following the example of our founding padres, a group of successful Hispanic engineers founded SHPE INDIANA - Professional Chapter on June 30, 2006. We are part of Region 6 and our members are Hispanic engineers working in several disciplines for the most prestigious engineering and scientific companies in the State of Indiana. Our Vision SHPE vision is a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. Our Mission SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development.
