About Silver Age Yoga
Silver Age Yoga Community Outreach (SAYCO) is a San Diego–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the health, independence, and quality of life of older adults through accessible, age-appropriate yoga. Since 2003, we have worked to remove barriers to wellness by providing free and low-cost yoga programs in the communities where older adults live, gather, and connect. Through partnerships with libraries, senior centers, community organizations, faith-based spaces, and other local facilities, we make movement and mindfulness more accessible to seniors throughout San Diego County. Our programs support a wide range of abilities and experience levels and may include chair yoga, standing and balance practices, gentle mat-based movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and relaxation. Classes are led by instructors trained in the Silver Age Yoga method and in supporting the unique needs of older adults. Our services include free and low-cost community yoga classes, chair and standing yoga, balance-focused practices, gentle mat yoga, live virtual classes, and collaborative community wellness programs. At SAYCO, we believe age should never be a barrier to movement, wellness, or connection. Our programs are designed to support mobility, strength, flexibility, balance, stress reduction, social connection, and healthy aging. Through the support of dedicated teachers, community partners, foundations, donors, and volunteers, we continue to expand access to meaningful wellness programs for older adults across San Diego County.
