Star Wire (India) Ltd. is a special steel plant manufacturing very critical grades of steel in the form of castings, rolled and forged steel. SWIL focused to manufacture critical components and special steels in 1991 and it could stand itself as one of the largest manufacturers of special steels in the shape of castings, forged and rolled products through its sustained and dedicated efforts. It is making the country proud by indigenous development of large weight power sector castings and forgings for Indian companies as well as by exporting to get acceptance for quality as per international standards. SWIL has developed large weight castings such as Barrel type HP Outer casings , HP & IP Inner casings, Valve casings for Supercritical Temperature for Steam Turbines of 250 MW,500 MW ,660 MW & 800MW capacity as well as for Nuclear Turbines.Beside castings, SWIL has also developed various rolled and forged products such as Motor Casing Steel for satellite launching vehicle, Gun Barrel Steel, Armour Steel and Turbine Blade Steel for very critical applications in Nuclear, Aerospace, Defence & Power sector.
