About Street Child of Nepal
Street Child of Nepal works to support marginalised communities across the country, including those in remote and hard-to-reach areas. Street Child focuses on improving access to quality education and fostering inclusive learning environments for children in need, while also strengthening the livelihoods and life skills of disadvantaged groups through sustainable development initiatives. Following the 2015 earthquake—which displaced over one million children from school and damaged more than 50,000 classrooms—Street Child UK established its presence in Nepal to help restore education in the worst-affected communities. Since then, Street Child of Nepal has continued to expand its reach, providing long-term educational opportunities to the most underserved populations. As one of the first in Nepal to implement the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) pedagogy, developed by Pratham India, the organisation champions learner-centred, evidence-based approaches to improve foundational learning outcomes. It is also committed to evidence-led advocacy and programming, and actively supports both qualitative and quantitative research across sectors.
