Our immune system holds a wealth of information about our health. However, medicine still uses only a fraction of it. Born out of work begun at Stanford University, Surge is a French startup built on ten years of research at the interface of immunology and artificial intelligence. What does that look like in practice? Our first product, PreCyte, is a simple blood test that runs on standard hospital lab equipment. A day after surgery, it can already flag if a patient is at risk of infection. This is four days sooner than today's tests.
