About Swirly Music LLC
More and more composers are choosing to bypass traditional publishing and fulfill that role on their own. We prefer to maintain ownership of our copyrights and keep the Publisher portion of our royalties for ourselves. As a tradeoff, we are responsible for promoting our work on our own, and solving the mechanics of getting it into the hands of interested performers. Swirly Music is a home for these composers, closing the gaps between the composer, the printer and the buyer. We are here to save composers the trouble and expense of building their own e-commerce solution and fulfilling their own print orders. Using the familiar online shopping cart model, Swirly Music offers composers the ability to get their music, whether professionally printed or downloaded, into the hands of musicians, and be compensated for their hard work. Non-Profit Fiscally Sponsored by Fractured AtlasUnlike traditional publishers, Swirly Music is a de facto non-profit service and does not exclude any composer wishing to participate, as long as their work is presented in a professional manner. Publishers make their decisions for business reasons, and Swirly Music is simply here in service of composers. As a result, many wonderful pieces of music have found a home here that were either deemed “not a good fit” by traditional publishers or never submitted in the first place. Donations are welcome! Exceptional Presentation Each work is presented on its own clear and visually appealing page, complete with room for streaming performance audio (and in some cases, video) of the piece, a description, and most importantly, the opportunity to view the score in its entirety up close in a full-screen format.
