Nineteen years ago, streaming was still in its infancy—and authentic lesbian and sapphic stories were nearly impossible to find in one dedicated space. In 2007, Tello Films began as a bold experiment: a home for queer women’s storytelling when very few platforms existed for us. Today, as we celebrate 19 years of growth and resilience, I’m proud to reflect on a few highlights from the journey: ✨ One of the longest-running LGBTQ+ streaming platforms, dedicated exclusively to lesbian and sapphic stories ✨ A major evolution in 2016, expanding from original web series into a full streaming destination ✨ Producing Season of Love (2018), one of the first Hallmark-style holiday romcoms centered on queer women ✨ Recognition through one Primetime Emmy nomination and two Daytime Emmy nominations ✨ A growing library that supports independent filmmakers and ensures these stories are visible, valued, and sustained At its core, Tello has always been about more than entertainment—it’s about community, representation, and making sure queer women no longer have to search endlessly for themselves on screen.
