About Terra Andes Honey
We are the Chilean leading honey company and benchmarks in Latin America. Currently producing more than 1500 tons per year of pure raw honey from Patagonia in our processing plant holding the highest technology in South America Innovation is part of our DNA and what has allowed us to export our unique varieties to all continents. For Juan Pablo Molina, apiarist and founder of “Terra Andes Plus”, the honey runs through his veins. It was a trip to the southern island of Chiloe in 1987, when his passion for bees and the honey world were born. After many years of work with the Catholic University of Chile analyzing hundreds of honeys in order to certify the antibacterial activity of native honeys from Patagonia. The scientific results have been extraordinary, allowing us to create the APF honey factor. A process for proven quality We work together with our beekeepers to place the hives in wild and remote locations in the mountains and forests of Chilean Patagonia, far away from the presence of herbicides and pesticides in the environment and surrounded by native trees and plants that produce a unique honey. We have a strict quality testing process at the time of receiving honey from our suppliers, which includes traceability control as well as antibiotics, sugars, pollen, moisture content, flavor and color analysis. We carefully select the most premium honey that meets all standards to be microbiologically tested for APF certification. The selected honey is analyzed under APF methodology in the microbiological laboratory of the Universidad Católica de Chile. The University issues the APF Certification according to the antibacterial activity level and the native origin of each tested honey.
