The 9/11 Legacy Foundation exists to educate current and future generations about the lasting impacts of September 11, 2001, by supporting commemoration of the 25th anniversary, inspiring a nationwide commitment to remember the attacks, and promoting vigilance to create a safer world that reflects the values that emerged from one of the darkest hours of our shared history. We remember so that we can protect the future. The 9/11 Legacy Foundation exists to uphold six pillars: 1. Foster connections between Americans and the events that transpired on September 11, 2001 2. Commemorate milestones, most notably the 25th anniversary, and ensure they match the magnitude of the events' significance. 3. Instill unity and patriotism among Americans over our shared history 4. Define "We Remember" and commit to educating future generations about the meaning behind the sentiment 5. Raise awareness about the long-lasting impacts of 9/11 on our daily lives 6. Curate stories of heroism and resilience from those who perished, survivors, their loved ones and those Americans who stepped up during a time of crisis.
