The Romanian Institute for the Study of the Asia-Pacific (RISAP) is the first Romanian think-tank focused on researching the Asia-Pacific. RISAP aims to become an important center for Asia-Pacific research in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), providing Asia-Pacific expertise to the business environment, to government structures, to educational institutions and to the Romanian and European public. RISAP's mission is to contribute to the strengthening of Romania's relations with countries from the Asia-Pacific region, facilitating interregional communication through the promotion of bilateral ties. To this end, RISAP aims to establish partnerships with universities, think-tanks and research institutions and to strengthen people-to-people ties. RISAP aims to increase the visibility of the Asia-Pacific region within Romania and to enhance the Romanian public's understanding of the region. RISAP will engage in quantitative and qualitative research focused on the Asia-Pacific and will support researchers who study this region. One of RISAP’s main goals is to nurture the future generation of Romanian experts who study the Asia-Pacific region, as to enable Romania to take advantage of the opportunities that the countries of the region will offer over the next decades. This is why RISAP’s team is composed of young, dynamic and passionate researchers.
