About The Art of Forests
The Art of Forests (AoF) is the only global network of its kind, dedicated to supporting organisations restoring and protecting nature. The community responds to the evolving needs of its members, offering access to research, information, and essential support for project development, whether technological, financial, or practical. As a group, we are committed to helping each other scale our ecosystem restoration projects so that both people and the planet thrive. The purpose of The Art of Forests is to accelerate global ecosystem restoration, reforestation, and conservation by uniting organisations and fostering open dialogue and collaboration. We believe that a small group of forest makers (and investors) can make a difference if we stand together. Originally co-founded by Celia Francis and Sarah Scott, the AoF moved to a full UK charity status in November 24 and is now governed by a Board of 9 Trustees. Our work is organised around four pillars: 1. Connect The Art of Forests is a community made up of over 200 operators, developers, leaders and experts working on land and nature restoration around the world. 2. Learn Members of the Art of Forests are given a secure, dialogue-driven space where they can openly share both successes and failures. They can join regular knowledge-sharing events, specialist workstreams, and a growing resource library with 100+ hours of recordings from expert sessions. Some of our most active workstreams include: Land Rights and Tenure, Biomass Quantification, Local Community Engagement & Safeguarding, Financing and Scaling 3. Problem-Solve Provided with an active peer-to-peer problem-solving network, members collaborate on urgent challenges as they arise. 4. Influence Responding to the needs of members, the Art of Forests arranges time-sensitive dialogues directly with decision-makers of external organisations shaping the industry. Together, members amplify their influence and shape globally relevant conversations.
