About The Citizens Foundation (UK)
The Citizens Foundation (UK) is a UK registered charity that supports the education of underprivileged children in Pakistan by raising funds for TCF - Pakistan's leading education charity. We believe every child has a right to quality education, regardless of religion, class background or ethnicity. All children deserve to reach their full potential and pursue a vibrant and productive life, both individually and as members of society. We are fighting to bring hope to the 25 million children in Pakistan who are currently out of school. We are fighting to build schools where children feel safe, nurtured and empowered to become productive adults. We are fighting to build communities where girls are valued and thriving members of society. Most importantly, we are fighting to build a better, more viable future for the next generation of Pakistani children. We welcome you to join us in our struggle to end illiteracy in Pakistan and thereby help build a prosperous future for our children. Our achievements to date include: • 2,261 schools across Pakistan, representing the “largest network of professionally managed schools in the world” – The Economist • Nationwide presence, with schools across 100 cities and all 5 provinces • Educating 320,000 children and educating them well. • 48% female enrolment, which is extremely rare in rural areas in Pakistan • 16,500+ all-female faculty, making TCF the leading employer of women in the private sector in Pakistan • 293,000 adult women educated and empowered through our award-winning Adult Literacy Programme, Aagahi.
