Located just 15 km from the capital Tirana, TIA plays a vital role in linking Albania with Europe and beyond, serving millions of passengers every year, including the Albanian and Balkan diaspora. The airport has experienced consistent and remarkable growth. From handling about 600,000 passengers in 2005, TIA achieved a record 10.7 million passengers in 2024, making it the fastest-growing airport in Europe with a passenger growth rate of 224% compared to 2019. Since December 2020, TIA has been managed by Kastrati Group.
